As a policy analyst at Education Sector, Aldeman is responsible for working on projects in all four of Education Sector's focus areas: K–12 Accountability, Teacher Quality, Educational Choice, and Undergraduate Education, with a focus on quantitative analysis.

Aldeman holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Iowa and a master's of public policy degree from the College of William and Mary. While at William and Mary, he assisted on research projects analyzing the drafting and implementation of the federal No Child Left Behind Act, parental choice in the Milwaukee school voucher program, and state variations in teacher policies by type of credentialing board. Aldeman spent the summer of 2007 at Education Sector researching state higher education accountability plans and blogging for The Quick and the Ed.
