Stacey Jordan

Stacey Jordan is Education Sector's communications manager. In this position, Jordan is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to effectively communicate our ideas to policymakers, educators, the media, and other key audiences.

Jordan has an extensive background in education policy and nonprofit development. Prior to joining Education Sector, Jordan was director of education policy for Mayor David N. Cicilline of Providence, R.I. In this position, she designed, implemented, and executed a collaborative strategy between the mayor’s office, Providence Public School Department, and all appropriate public and private entities to strengthen and improve the city's public schools—including recommendations for legislative, budget, administrative, and community strategies. In New York City, Jordan was a director in the Department of Education's Office of Strategic Partnerships where she, as a member of the initial staff led by Caroline Kennedy, worked collaboratively with corporations, foundations and nonprofit partners, and individuals to raise critical funds for systemwide reform initiatives.

Jordan holds a bachelor's degree in philosophy from Wheaton College, Norton, Mass., and a Master of Social Work with a concentration in policy and administration from University of Texas at Austin.
